The campaign:
Once again I'll attempt to not get bogged down in the minutiae of Nazi factional and personality politics here.
To set the stage, according to Responsible for Equality And Liberty (R.E.A.L.)--
Jeff Schoep has led the Nazi, Hitlerite National Socialist Movement (NSM) for years. The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) quotes Jeff Schoep as stating: “The Constitution was written by white men alone. Therefore, it was intended for whites alone… When you put on your NSM uniform, you are not just representing the NSM but all National Socialists that fought and died for our Race and our Cause! You are showing the Jews and the rest of the world that our Fuhrer is not forgotten and that his life’s struggle was not in vain… All non-White immigration must be prevented. We demand that all non-Whites currently residing in America be required to leave the nation forthwith and return to their land of origin: peacefully or by force.”
John Taylor Bowles, a retired federal worker, was the Presidential nominee of the National Socialist Movement. His campaign headquarters was in an establishment called The Redneck Shop in Laurens, SC, which included KKK, Nazi, and Confederate paraphernalia in their inventory.
Bowles first running-mate was William "Wild Bill" Hoff, but as the Presidential candidate explained in an interview: "I had a Vice-Presidential candidate when the campaign officially began on December 7, 2006; but, unfortunately he was killed in a mysterious automobile accident 10 hours later. His name was William (Wild Bill) and he served in the USA military and was decorated with over 15 medals. Early in his political life, Mr. Hoff served as Grand Dragon for the Ku Klux Klan in New York and ran for the Senate in New York."
The Southern Poverty Law Center commented on this accident: "In December 2006, 'Wild' Bill Hoff, one of the NSM's oldest and best-known members and a 'colonel' in the group, died in a car accident at the age of 71. This was particularly notable because Hoff's anti-racist brother decided four months after the death to reveal a remarkable fact — Hoff, along with other members of his family, had black ancestors, a dreadful secret in the world of neo-Nazism."
The fate of Bowles' second running-mate foreshadowed the future: "My second choice for Vice-President was Kris Johnson; but, he was pressured to drop out because the NSM Commander wanted to sabotage my campaign. I will announce my third vice-presidential running mate choice on my campaign website (Bowlesforpresident.com) probably in March 2008. My running mate will be, of course, a National Socialist."
The third running-mate was Matthew Ramsey, also known under the alias of "Jim Ramm." Both Bowles and Ramsey either quit or had been expelled (sources differ) from NSM in Oct. 2007. It is somewhat unusual for a political group to lose their Presidential nominee during an election year. Rather than quit the campaign, Bowles formed the National Socialist Order of America and continued to electioneer, just under a new banner.
So the NSM found itself without a Presidential candidate, but they regained their footing and sent out this press release in Apr. 2008--

The National Socialist Movement, the nation's largest White Rights organization, was in full force this past weekend in Washington, DC. On the lawn of the United States Capitol Building, a new step was taken in advancing the cause that the NSM has fought for since 1974. Brian Holland, an NSM member and 20 year veteran of the White Rights Movement, announced that he had accepted the Party's nomination for President of the United States.
Holland, an award winning former journalist, 17 year veteran radio talk show host, television producer, and longtime supporter of the Movement, announced briefly that he would be seeking the Presidency. In a brief interview after the NSM's National Rally, Holland explained the cornerstones of his candidacy:
"This nation and this world needs leadership that is prepared to face the real issues, the real problems. The United States needs to see it's interest rates dropped and held at a reasonable rate. We need to make it possible for those that need to be provided for are indeed provided for. We need to guarantee this nation's freedoms, regardless of your stand or your beliefs, we need to guarantee that you have the right to express it peacefully. This nation needs to develop a real plan to end the quagmire in Iraq, and to bring our brave men and women home from battle. Taxation needs to be overhauled, and we need to follow the examples of the former Soviet Bloc nations who have implemented a flat tax for all citizens. Those former Easter Bloc nations are now flourishing because of their fair and equal taxation system. Our borders need to be protected at all costs. Borders, language, and culture needs to be the backbone of our efforts. Crime has to be met face to face, and stopped at all costs. Illegal aliens need to be returned to their homelands. One out of every three inmates in our Federal Prison System is an illegal alien, they are not our responsibility. America is not the world's police force, and I will not allow it to be. We are not at the disposal of every third world nation that needs us to bail them out, then when the work is done, they return to their America hating ways. No more. Education, real education, must be returned to the people. The protection of the American family. These are the things that haunt me, and the reasons that I have proudly accepted my Party's nomination for the Presidency of the United States of America. With the efforts of Commander Schoep and the help of our supporters worldwide, these goals can be met. It is important to remember, this is not about hate, it is not about the blame game, it is about preservation, heritage, culture, it is indeed about the future."
The campaign will begin full swing in May, with Holland visiting supporters in Arizona, Florida, and Oregon. Future campaign information will be provided on the soon to be published official website.

Regarding the selection of a Vice-President, Holland said in a press release--
Just as we filled Madison Square Garden with twenty thousand members in the 1920's, I believe with all of my being that we can attain that force again. In saying this, I will tell you now, when my Vice Presidential running mate is announced, it will be someone from outside of the NSM, someone that will carry the banner of our struggle proudly and gallantly, someone who is not a part of the ego game. I will chose wisely, and I hope that together, this campaign and all of White America can move on.
On July 5, 2008 Holland introduced his running-mate, Drew Bostwick at a gathering in Iowa. Bostwick was described as a member of NSM, so obviously Holland had changed his mind about not selecting someone from the ranks of the parent organization.
Bostwick was a skinhead in the early 1990s, apparently connected with "The National Front" and lived in the Medford, Ore. area for a spell. Eventually he became a "pastor" in the Church of Jesus Christ Christian, which is considered part of the Christian Identity movement. Starting in 1992 his mentor was Richard Butler who operated the Aryan Nations compound in northern Idaho. Bostwick was associated with Butler until the latter's death in 2004. Bostwick's faction of the very splintered remains of Butler's empire still exists and the church in his control has been renamed Tabernacle of the Phineas Priesthood-Aryan Nations.
Holland gave a statement in May 2008 regarding the Bowles/Ramsey ticket--
The Brian Holland for President Campaign is a real presidential campaign, registered with the Federal Elections Commission, and my name will appear on the ballot on November 4, in ten to fifteen states. I am not a write in candidate, nor am I delusional enough to think that I can become President of the United States in 2008. Granted, it would prove entertaining, but I just don't think it's in the cards.
I've been accused of "splitting the White vote" by Taylor and some other folks. Let me address that briefly. Number one, I'm going to be on actual ballots, I will be the ONLY pro White candidate to appear on said ballots. So, no, I am not splitting the vote. On the contrary, anyone who runs a non ballotted campaign would be splitting the vote in that case. Thanks to my years as a mainstream talk radio host, an award winning journalist, and a professional campaign consultant, I exercised my contacts and have actual state organizations in place at this time. We are running this campaign just like any other viable candidate would be running.
As it turned out Holland was not on any ballots or even a registered write-in.
Holland was later revealed to be an FBI informant, receiving his "burn notice" in early 2012 after 11 years of paid service to the federal government. Holland was also a Presidential candidate at the time although I cannot identify a running-mate for that year. He was accused by the State of North Carolina in 2013 of having sexual relations with a male minor in an incident in Nov. 2007.
