The campaign:
Kennesaw, Ga.-based David C. Byrne, a perennial write-in candidate for President and Governor of Georgia since 2000, declared he was in the race for a fourth attempt at the White House in July 2012. He named Taralyn T. Harris of Woodstock, Ga. as his running-mate. Their campaign was a stealth, under the radar effort.
The Byrne/Harris ticket were registered write-ins in Alaska (where write-in vote results were not deconstructed), Florida (zero votes received), and Georgia (2 votes). In the event of their victory there would have been a snag with the Constitution since both were residents of the same state.
Byrne ran in 2016 and 2020 as well.
