Martin Carlisle, a college professor in the Pittsburgh area, ran for President in 2016 to restore civility in government. His running-mate was John Anthony Quintanilla, who taught at the University of North Texas.

Platform points:
#ProFaith – As a Christian, I am sensitive to the fact that people of faith are sometimes marginalized in the public square. People of all faiths or none should be free to follow their consciences and speak out on issues that are important to them
#LetsTalk – We need to stop treating fellow Americans we disagree with as the enemy, and instead search for areas where we can agree and make progress.
#LimitedGovernment – Having worked for the government for 20 years, I keenly understand why the framers of our Constitution wisely wrote the 10th amendment to give the States and the People all the powers not explicitly granted to the federal government. We’ve lost sight of that, and need to shrink the federal government.
#SimplerTaxes – Tax law should not be used to push special interests and rich people should not be able to avoid taxes in ways the rest of us cannot.
#ProLife – Abortion should not be used as a method of birth control. I am both pro-women and pro-life. Although I believe in (and followed!) abstinence before marriage, I also believe birth control should be widely available and pregnant women should be supported so they can choose life. We also need to make adoption easier and work with states and non-profits to help new parents.
#MLKDream – Racism has tainted our nation from its very inception. I support the right of peaceful protest in response to police violence, and support consequences for police who use excessive violence. I also support our police and deplore acts of violence against them. I am attending “Unconscious Bias” training, and will work to ensure my administration hires the best qualified people from across America, and rigorously investigate possible violations of the 14th Amendment.
#SensibleImmigration – Our nation was built on immigration, and people from around the world come here to experience our freedom and our outstanding higher education. Many hard workers come here from other countries. We should make sure we reap the benefits of immigration, and that there are reasonable paths for legal work and study in the US, where people pay taxes and contribute, instead of simply drawing benefits.
#SensibleTrade – Fair trading policies benefit both the US and other nations. We need to negotiate strong trade alliances, making sure that we they are fair, and not exporting American jobs to countries that exploit laborers. A high priority is negotiating a trade deal with Britain as it exits the EU.
#AlliancesMatter – We must not back away from our obligations to our NATO or any other allies.
#SensibleGunOwnership – The Second Amendment supports a well-regulated militia for the security of a free State. States should make sure citizens can get training and bear arms responsibly, just like they regulate driving.
#PortableHealthCare – The real problem with health insurance in America is that we’ve tied it to your job. Let’s change the incentives so that people can buy health insurance, and take it with them wherever they go.
#Experienced – I spent 20 years as a professor at the United States Air Force Academy. I am experienced in both leading and training future leaders. I was awarded the Arthur S. Flemming Award for Exceptional Federal Service and the Air Force Meritorious Civilian Service Award, which Wikipedia notes is the “second highest award and medal provided to civilian employees within agencies of the federal government of the United States.”

We are very pleased that John Quintanilla has joined the ticket to be our next vice-president! John is a University Distinguished Teaching Professor of Mathematics at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. He has degrees from both Stanford (BS 1992, MS 1992) and Princeton (MA 1994, PhD 1997). He was a founding co-director of Teach North Texas, UNT's program for preparing secondary teachers of mathematics and science. He and his wife Sandra have one daughter, Sarah. They attend Denton Bible Church. John is a brilliant man of character who will add greatly to the administration.
The Carlisle/Quintanilla ticket were registered as write-ins in Maryland and Washington.
