William Eric Bodenstab Jr.

William Eric Bodenstab Jr., June 6, 1978 (San Diego County, Calif.)

VP candidate for Unity Party of America (aka United Party) (2020)

Running mate with nominee: William Robert Hammons (b. 1974)
Popular vote: 6,647 (0.00%)
Electoral vote: 0/538

The campaign:

In their second national election the Unity Party of America nominated the same duo who ran as the Party's ticket for Governor and Lt. Governor of Colorado in 2018, Bill Hammons and Eric Bodenstab. Hammons had since changed his residency to Texas.

Describing themselves as centrist, the UPA platform for 2020 as presented by Hammons pretty much mirrored the official Party Constitution--

My 33-Point 2020 United States Presidential Platform:

COVID-19 Response > The Cold War-era Defense Production Act should have been fully invoked at the beginning of the COVID Crisis to prioritize the manufacture and distribution of as many N95 masks, surgical masks, face shields, ventilators, and other products (all stamped prominently with the US Star logo seen on WWII-era military aircraft and the words “Made in the USA”) as are needed to keep both healthcare workers and the general public safe; any excess stock can be loaned or outright gifted to countries with less resources, both as a goodwill gesture and to prevent future waves of this germ from washing back into our own country. The use of face masks should be strongly encouraged nationwide (and mandated for flying by the FAA) until a highly effective vaccine is in production, Contact Tracers should have been hired en masse as soon as people started to lose their old jobs, and this Summer was a lost opportunity to finally begin repairing our dilapidated roads, bridges and highways with massive and labor-intensive projects (many American workers would’ve had the opportunity for new careers working the phones or working in the Great Outdoors).

Vaccines > As Commander in Chief, I’ll be one of the first to receive a safe COVID-19 Vaccine, and cite my own example as I use the resources of the Federal Government to strongly encourage widespread use of a safe vaccine. The 1976 Swine Flu Vaccine disaster is a warning from history, so rest assured my “Operation Impulse Drive” will seek to protect the public from both COVID and vaccine side effects. Regarding vaccines generally, including for children, concerned citizens will have to proactively request exemptions.

Freedom Tariffs > The recent Economic Stimulus payments demonstrated that the US Government can easily get money into the bank accounts of US Citizens with just routing and account numbers; as President, I will immediately impose Freedom Tariffs on Russia, China, Saudi Arabia and other Bad Actors who also happen to directly or indirectly import large volumes of Climate Change-inducing products into this country; the resulting revenues can be immediately (on a weekly basis) remitted into the bank accounts or onto the paycards of all Americans.

Revoke the Presidential Pardon Power > The President’s unfettered Power to Pardon has been abused, and it’s become obvious that our criminal justice system has never been perfect. It’s time to Amend the Constitution to take Pardons out of Presidential hands and put this power in the hands of a Commission whose 12 members are nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate for staggered six-year terms limited to no more than 12 total years.

Federal Election Commission > The fact that the Federal Election Commission keeps losing its quorum has been perhaps the most underreported story of the last few years. As with the Supreme Court (see below), the FEC needs to be expanded to 13 members, one representative for each political party which fielded a Presidential candidate in at least 3 states in the previous Election, and Presidential/Congressional failure to appoint dedicated Commissioners who don’t quit at their earliest convenience should be answered with appointments by the Supreme Court.

Refund the Police > Don’t “Defund” the Police; use the funded federal mandate of body cameras to encourage cities and towns across the country to revisit their police funding (Do all police need all of the military hardware they’ve been given access to since 9/11? Can social workers and other non-law-enforcement professionals be used for certain situations instead of the police?).

Climate Change > Climate Change is real, Climate Change is a problem, and Climate Change is a problem we can solve. We should explore all solutions, for now and for the future.

The US Global War on Terror > Regardless of places like Syria and Iraq, America is in Afghanistan for a good clear reason (9/11), and America should only leave for another good clear reason (when we can be confident Afghanistan won’t be used as a base for attacks on Americans again). Unfortunately, America’s involvement in Afghanistan is trending towards an ending similar to that in Vietnam (look for the equivalent of choppers on besieged embassy rooftops) and we shouldn’t make the mistake of trusting bad actors. And regardless of the controversies, I’ve started an online American War Memorial on this site as one small way to honor America’s fallen in our many “Forgotten Wars.”

Impeach and Convict > Using the Power of the Presidency to coerce a foreign leader to manufacture dirt on a political rival triggers a feedback loop of power begetting more power to the point of a totalitarian dictatorship > Impeachment was the right thing to do and should be repeated as necessary.

Mass Shootings > The FBI needs to be merged with the CIA, domestic surveillance of Social Media increased to prevent tragedies before they happen, and all sales of new firearms to people who shouldn’t own them banned while allowing law-abiding gun owners to keep the guns they already have and encouraging firearm safety training.

D.C. Statehood > The City of Washington should be given Statehood, a Statehood perhaps balanced by a western Statehood.

Balance the Budget > MMT = BS; let’s Balance the Federal Budget with a Balanced Budget Amendment and prevent an unnecessary financial crisis if it’s not too late.

Term Limits > I support Term Limits for Congress (two six-year terms for Senators, four two-year terms for US Representatives), the Supreme Court and the entire Federal Judiciary (12 years for all Justices and Judges) to fight ossification.

Supreme Court > In addition to having its power limited with Term Limits, the Supreme Court should be expanded to 13 Justices and capped at that number by Constitutional Amendment, with the Chief Justice only voting in the case of a tie of the other Justices (the Constitution never specified the number of Justices, instead leaving that to Congress, and such an Amendment will prevent future court packing schemes). The four Justices who would be added to the current nine by this process should include two from the ideological right and two from the left, or better yet, two or four Justices who have no shown no ideological bias but instead a simple reverence for Common Sense. For the record, I am a hardcore Originalist, a firm believer that the Constitution is not a “living” document but a written document.

Border Wall > I support a Wall along the U.S.-Mexican border, not because I’m racist but because we’re already experiencing Climate Migration from Central America, and what Europe, shielded as it is by the Mediterranean, has experienced will be nothing to what the U.S. will experience in coming years. I believe in limited, legal and orderly immigration with arriving families treated humanely (no family separations). I don’t support cross-border chaos.

Colorado Constitutional Convention > Our system of government is broken and there should be a new Constitutional Convention, as provided for by Article V of the Constitution, in Colorado (where I propose that we move the District of Columbia) to end the disturbing charade of appointing Presidential Electors but not allowing them to vote freely, end the lifetime appointments of Judges and Justices based on the 38-year life expectancy for white males in 1787 America, end the buying of re-election votes with taxpayers’ money, end the election of voters by legislators with gerrymandering and not the other way around, end the immensely ironic disenfranchisement of voters in the nation’s own capital, etc.

Eliminate Income and Property Taxes > Federal income taxes and local property taxes (including de facto taxes in the form of vehicle registration fees) are a violation of the 4th Amendment, and should be replaced with revenues based on greenhouse gas emissions offset by weekly rebates directly back into consumers’ bank accounts or onto debit cards. Many conservatives have advocated a National Sales Tax, and an NST based on the emissions emitted in the process of production coupled with instant rebates is a fair tax which would eliminate many of the privacy issues surrounding other forms of taxation as well solve many of the problems in the American education system created by disproportionate tax bases.

Defend America at all Costs > We should resurrect the federal “Star Wars” Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) program to fend off North Korea and other bad actors; Mutually Assured Destruction is indeed mad > crazy.

American Spaceport Development > Since 2010, I’ve been publicly pushing for more Spaceport development in Colorado, and agree with Uniters who believe that our future (at least partly) is in the stars.

Life and Death > I support the Right to Choose, and I also support the Death Penalty (in cases beyond all doubt, I respect the will of the voters).

Gun Rights > As with the rest of the United States Constitution, I support the Second Amendment as it was written over 200 years ago.

Law Enforcement > We can protect both law enforcement and the public with mandatory and Federally funded body cameras across the nation. A recent Washington Post article hit it on head: body cameras are great for law enforcement, but tough on small-town police department budgets.

Medicare For All Americans Who Want It > I myself lost my own health insurance due to the Obamacare debacle, and support a Medicare For All Americans Who Want It system (Americans should be able to keep their private health insurance if they so choose, but also have the option of government-funded health insurance). One positive legacy of Obamacare is the inability of insurance companies to deny coverage based on pre-existing conditions, and no one should be caught in this Catch-22 situation.

Secure Social Security > As the Obamacare debacle so aptly demonstrated, older Americans relying on younger Americans to properly fund a federal program is a dicey proposition at best. Social Security can be supplemented by revenues like Freedom Tariffs and SS recipients can get relief with the reduction of property and income taxes.

Cannabis > It’s time to recognize the medical benefits of Cannabis, allow its recreational use on a live-and-let-live basis, and use the resulting revenues to help fund devastated local government budgets.

Net Neutrality > If you can still read this over the Internet, there’s still hope. Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are Common Carriers and should be treated as such. Just as your phone company, back in the days when landline use was common, couldn’t block calls from a political party or candidates which didn’t toe the phone company’s line, ISPs shouldn’t be able to play referee as to what information a consumer receives over the Internet and how (or how fast) they receive it. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) should take the lead from the states and once again make the Internet (and thus the World) safe for ingenuity, including ingenuity of the political variety.

Federal Life Insurance > As a former Life Producer licensed in several states, I’m a firm believer in the societal benefits of insurance, and support Federal funding to promote societal stability. Federally-funded life insurance can be funded with a modest Estate Tax (a modest percentage on inherited wealth above a hefty exemption); Estate Taxes also have the additional benefit of keeping the term “American Aristocracy” an oxymoron.

Make 16 Minimum Voting and Donating Age > When Americans are old enough to drive at 16, they should be old enough to make political donations and vote in elections; conversely, Americans should not be able to make political donations if they’re not allowed to vote in the first place (note that the current minimum age to make a Federal campaign contribution is zero).

Right to Run > The barriers in some States to ballot access for non-established parties and their candidates are beyond unreasonable (in my home State of Texas, an Independent candidate for President has two months to gather 89,693 signatures from Texas voters who didn’t vote in either major party primary). As the man who made history in Colorado by being the first 3rd party candidate to petition onto the General Election ballot, and being the only one to ever do so single-handedly, and having repeated that feat in multiple other States, I can speak on this issue as no one else can. The States should be held accountable to the First Amendment rights of Assembly and Petition, and no State should require more than 100 signatures and $100 per Congressional District for ballot access in Federal races (e.g., the State of Texas shouldn’t be allowed to require more than 3,600 signatures and $3,600 of any candidate who wishes to appear on the State’s Presidential ballot, regardless of party affiliation, Wyoming 100 signatures and $100, etc.). For those party leaders who will whine that this would lead to Presidential Elections being thrown to the House on a regular basis, I say “Get Over It” and tell them to start forming Shadow Cabinets ready to start running the Federal Government at a moment’s notice.

Approval Voting > Counting over-votes on ballots encourages competition between more than two mutually-canceling parties and better expresses the will of the American voter.

Redistricting Gerrymandered Districts > We need to outlaw Gerrymandering (the drawing of legislative districts along partisan lines), and enforce the drawing of all legislative districts along competitive lines in terms of gender, age, race, socioeconomics, urban vs. rural and other factors, with those lines being drawn by four-judge panels of retired judges in each state to ensure that the resulting district lines are the result of compromise.

Rename Columbus Day “Discovery Day” > The controversies swirling around Columbus Day can easily be resolved by renaming the anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s landing “Discovery Day”. That exact title was used for this holiday by the Bahamas until 2012 and is still used in the nation of Colombia (and Colombia was named after Columbus).

Cloth Flags for Fallen Veterans > When my father Rich passed away due to Agent Orange exposure from the Vietnam War, I was dismayed when the hospice nurses laid a nylon flag over his body > there should be a Federal law mandating that only cloth flags can be used for such a purpose.

Bodenstab made his own additions--

Balance the Budget to a surplus to pay down the National Debt
Reduce the size and scope of the Federal Government over the next 30 years
    Eliminate several non-productive Federal departments
Limit foreign intervention and reduce favored nation statuses
Absolutely Unqualified Assertion of the Second Amendment > 2A protects 1A
Extend the Presidency to one 6-year term with no re-election

I was fortunate enough to be granted an interview with Bodenstab in Apr. 2020, who discussed the UPA and the 2020 election at this link--

https://thirdpartysecondbananas.blogspot.com/2020/04/eric-bodenstab-2020-vp-unity-party-of.html

On the ballot in three states, the Hammons/Bodenstab results were: Colorado 0.08%, New Jersey 0.07%, and Louisiana 0.03%.

Hammons is running for the 2024 UPA Presidential nomination.

Election history:
2009 - Boulder City Council, Colo. - defeated
2018 - Lt. Governor of Colorado (Unity Party) - defeated

Other occupations: transportation engineering, construction, Unity Party of Colorado Chair

Christopher Michael Lauer

Christopher Michael Lauer, April 11, 1980 -

VP candidate for Unity Party of America (2016)

Running mate with nominee: Roger Eugene Nichols (1961-2019)
Popular vote: ? (0.00%)
Electoral vote: 0/538

The campaign:

Roger Nichols, a pastor and coach of Maryville, Mo. announced his intention run as the Unity Party of America candidate for President in June 2013. He filed with the FEC on May 6, 2015. It wouldn't be until April, 2016 that Nichols and his running-mate, Chris Lauer of Watertown, Conn. would be officially nominated by the Party.

Although the Unity Party of America had been around since 2004, the Nichols/Lauer nominations appeared to have been their first national ticket. Interestingly, their names do not surface in the Party's Wikipedia entry nor in their own institutional history on the current UPA website--

Unity Party History: An American Story

One day in September of 2003, Bill Hammons was on a training run for the New York City Marathon in the hills of Central Park, mulling over what more he could do to support the Presidential candidacy of General Wesley Clark, who had just declared for the White House (Hammons had been active in the Draft Clark grassroots movement).

Then, at the top of the park, it struck Hammons that he and others could run marathons to raise campaign contributions. The idea of “Runners for Clark” was born, RFC raised a bit of cash for Clark’s campaign, and the nascent organization had spread to 14 states before the General bowed out of the Primaries the following Spring.

Clark might’ve been done, but Hammons wasn’t, and Unity Runners was started with this website of unityparty.us to support Centrist candidates throughout the country (one thing Hammons had become increasingly dismayed with was the seeming inability of the major American political parties to appeal to Centrist voters who don’t necessarily adhere to any particular ideology, other than Common Sense).

The 2004 election was done that November, but Hammons still wasn’t done, and the Unity Party of America was born on November 4, 2004, the day after that election. Bill’s fellow Unity Runners basically said “good luck with that,” and his father Rich was party member #2.

Hammons moved to Colorado the following April to trade the skyscrapers of Manhattan for the peaks of the Colorado Rockies, and he soon decided to run for office himself, as a Unity Party candidate in 2008. He became the first of only two 3rd party candidates to successfully petition onto the General Election ballot in Colorado history (Approval Voting candidate Blake Huber followed in Bill’s footsteps in 2018 before joining the Unity Party of Colorado’s United Colorado Committee).

As a direct result of Bill’s successful petitions onto the statewide General Election ballot (he also ran for US Senate in 2014 and 2016), the Unity Party was placed on and remained on Colorado’s voter registration form as one of only six voter affiliation options (“Unity”).

Then, on June 6, 2017 (D-Day), the Unity Party of Colorado achieved full party status in the Centennial State thanks to the number of voters who had checked the “Unity” voter affiliation box. With this new status, Unity Party of Colorado candidates (including Presidential candidates), no longer have to petition onto the General Election ballot, but instead are nominated at the election year Unity Party convention. In 2018, Hammons, his Gubernatorial running mate and friend Eric Bodenstab, and other candidates went on to shatter all new-party records in that year’s General Election.

And stay tuned for more exciting developments! Hammons returned to his home state of Texas in 2019 partly to enjoy some fine year-round weather, partly due to the 12th Amendment, and partly to help expand the Unity Party in Texas, Colorado Springs veteran Rebecca Keltie declared as the first-ever female Unity Party Candidate (for Congress), Stephan “Chairman Seku” Evans became the first African-American Unity Party nominee (to represent Colorado in the US Senate), and multiple candidates across the country vied to be the first Unity Party Presidential candidate to appear on official ballots (the Hammons/Bodenstab Unity Party Presidential ticket is appearing on multiple state ballots in multiple regions of the country in 2020).

The pre-2016 UPA platform consisted of six planks summarized as-- Balanced Budget Amendment, Eliminate the Federal Income Tax, Health Care Tax Deduction, Social Security Tithe Pool, Term Limits, Judges not Gerrymandering. By the time of the Nichols/Lauer election cycle it had been expanded to 23 issues. Their platform came across as sort of a conservative/Libertarian-lite--

Balanced Budget Amendment
Unity supports the passage of a Balanced Budget Amendment in the interests of the nation's fiscal and economic health. Any short-term stimulative benefits gained by deficit spending are far outweighed by the long-term damage that spending inflicts on the economy. It's time to stop spending our children's inheritance, and it's time for the state legislatures to apply to Congress for a new Constitutional Convention to pass this and other amendments, per Article V of the US Constitution.

Affirm the 2nd Amendment
The Unity Party of America affirms the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States; the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Affirm the 4th Amendment
The Unity Party of America affirms the 4th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States; the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects shall not be violated.

Eliminate the Federal Income Tax
Unity supports replacing federal income taxes with a revenue measure based on the carbon content of fossil fuels as a simple way of balancing the budget, combating global warming, and encouraging the development of alternative energy sources. A reduction in fossil fuel consumption would enhance American power abroad by making this nation less dependent on foreign sources of oil.

Health Care Tax Deduction
Unity supports a full tax deduction for the health care costs of all Americans forced to pay for their own health coverage.

Social Security Tithe Pool
Unity supports the replacement of federal payroll taxes with a "tithe pool" of less than 10% of earned income. At the end of every fiscal year, the pool of revenues collected that year would be apportioned to guarantee Social Security benefits, Medicare, and other entitlement programs for the following calendar year.

Supporting our Military
Unity supports our military service members, both active duty and retired, the many brave men and women who have honorably defended our great nation. Unity supports all efforts to get our military better healthcare and retirement benefits as well as making it easier for all veterans to get access to the benefits they need, no question asked.

Free and Fair Trade
Unity supports global free trade in the interest of long-term economic development, so long as provisions are made for a Global Minimum Wage to protect workers both here and abroad, and for carbon tariffs to fight global warming and protect American manufacturers.

Term Limits
Unity supports limiting US Senators to two six-year terms in office, and limiting US Representatives to four two-year terms in office.

Judicial Term Limits
Unity supports an amendment to the US Constitution which imposes term limits of 12 years on Federal Judges, including US Supreme Court Justices.

Enhance Electoral Security
In this age of hackers and other criminals willing to do anything to advance their own agenda and subvert American democracy, Unity supports the requirement that all individual votes in Federal elections, whether they be cast electronically or by other means, be recorded with paper receipts.

Judges, not Gerrymandering
Unity supports outlawing the drawing of legislative districts along partisan lines, and supports the appointment of panels of retired judges to draw the boundaries of legislative districts.

Put Campaign Finance on Solid Foundation
Unity declares that all Federal political contributions, whether they be spent directly or indirectly on campaigns for Federal office, should be reported on a timely basis in terms of individual source and should be limited to no more than the current limit of $2,700 per individual donor, adjusted for inflation going forward; if corporations are real people and money is speech, corporations should be held to the same standards as real people and money still can't be tossed onto the roaring bonfire of corruption threatening the very structures at the heart of American democracy.

Resign to Run
To give the American Taxpayer relief from subsidizing the careers of incumbent officeholders, elected Federal officials seeking office higher than the one they currently hold should resign immediately upon filing for a primary election; the timing of such resignations would allow for the holding of replacement elections in a seamless and efficient manner.

Make Minimum Voting & Donating Ages 16
When Americans are old enough to drive at 16, they're old enough to make political donations and vote in elections; conversely, Americans should not be able to make political donations if they're not allowed to vote in the first place.

The American Space Program
Unity supports a focused, efficient and aggressive US space program which leads the world. An American space program that sets the pace will not only inspire Humankind, but will lead to many short and long-term benefits for our nation. Space exploration and the eventual building of colonies on the moon, Mars and planets beyond will provide us with the 'life jacket' Humankind might need.

Call for DC Statehood
Taxation without Representation for Hundreds of Thousands of American Citizens in the US Capital is symbolic of the dysfunction of the two-party duopoly; the Unity Party supports DC Statehood with appropriate provisions for Federal property.

Self-Determination of All Peoples
Unity supports the right of self-determination for all Peoples, including their right to establish new States within the United States of America as appropriate.

Chris Lauer, an activist for homeless vets, was named Nichols' campaign manager in Aug. 2014 before getting the VP nod--

Aug. 31, 2014
Effective immediately, Chris Lauer replaces Bill Hammons as Nichols for President Campaign Manager.  It's all good: support for Roger's campaign is reaching new levels and Hammons will be better able to focus on his two other jobs of chairing the national party and running for US Senate in Colorado; he's the first Unity Party candidate to make the General Election ballot for US Senator and has put the party on the State's voter registration form!

Although the Party presented itself as centrist, their 2016 nominees were definitely coming from the Right wing on social issues if their Internet accounts were any indicator. Nichols' Facebook campaign page provided links to the Tea Party, anti-Islamic/pro-Christian activists, the Heritage Foundation, FreedomWorks, and the Christian-based American Center for Law & Justice Fox & Friends. He also expressed strong views supporting Israel.

However, Nichols' did reveal a shift to the Left on economics when it came to helping those on the margins of society, much like those in the Catholic-based American Solidarity Party. Here is a statement he made in Jan. 2016--

The strength of Our Nation is the Citizens of Our Great Country. American's working together as true Patriots, creating employment, investments and currency in order for survival & growth for the future. Restructuring and systematizing of the current system is a necessary step forward improving the damage's done from spending our taxpayer money in areas of neglect, abuse, waste & fraud. Unemployment and poverty is imperative. Granting an absolute and essential subsidy to low-income families and individuals and annually raise Senior Citizens’ social security income and social disability income in accordance with the cost of living. Provide a tax credit for all Citizens investing in our Country, Charity and contributions. In order to reduce our debt, the ultimate approach would be to apply all stimulus money to help the States of affairs. The critical issue at hand now, is to cease all double dipping loans, spending and of course, pork expenditures, all of which inflates the deficit. It is crucial to balance the budget by eliminating unproductive programs and maintain beneficial programs for our Citizens.
Our government is responsibility to its citizens, and not the rest of the world. As the saying goes, “talk is cheap and action to solve,” Now is the time for our Government to take inventory of the budget and balance our deficit.
We should be proud to be an American and Citizens of this great Country. It is imperative that we Stand Up & not allow our rights from being stripped from us. We need to continue to find and unsurpassed solution to the difficulties we are experiencing in our Country right now there is the separation of Citizens and government. We are in dire need of a Leader to works for the citizens of this great nation and a leader who takes an interest in the citizens and their needs. By having a Leader like that, the government and Citizens will work together as a team. In some instances separation is useful for freedom however, we need unity in times of crises to enable us to sought our solutions in the best interest of our Country.
I will be the leader who stands up for The People,Our County, Veterans and America first before others.Within the Heart,Mind & Soul, united together we will prevail!. We The People build Our Country,We The People created jobs, We The People pays taxes, We The People Stands Up for the Constitution & Freedom, We The People want's Our Country issues solve with solution's,America First before others.God Bless USA & We The People!

VP nominee Lauer expressed himself as more militantly ("awaken the sheep!") Right wing on his social media. His Homes for Homeless Vets and Unity Sweep of The People's House,Senate and Congress and 2016 Presidential Candidate Roger E. Nichols Campaign Manager Facebook pages included alarm over the "New World Order," support for anti-Islamic sentiment, a contention that President Obama was a traitor and should be impeached, support for birtherism, endorsing the idea that Hillary Clinton should be jailed, highlighting the "Clinton Death List," getting the US out of the UN, and providing links to Fox talking heads, the Tea Party, Breitbart, the NRA, and more esoteric conservative websites--

Americans complain about the downfall of our society and our Gov't yet the support they have for #Democrats #Sanders and #Hillary just make me sick that this is what a lot of Americans want!
I get reports from the White House including Hillary's messages about her Campaign and asking for me to pledge a dollar and I won't give a penny‼️
I didn't forget #Benghazi!
So she went on a rant about Socialist Sanders receiving $6 million in the last couple weeks and how can Americans give that much to this Man and not much less to her?
All the promises of free stuff and do these people realize who pays for it?
The #Taxpayer!
This is what the NWO wants , backed by 620 plus corporations. The UN influences and the corrupt main two party system will stay corrupt under these two as #President and don't forget Bernie has ties with Rothschilds as a cousin see how that makes him a key opponent to push their agenda on the American People!
We have Options with Solutions however!

Facebook provided a number of fact check editorial blurbs countering the claims of some of the memes Lauer posted.

Oddly, as most other campaigns were in overdrive during the final weeks of the campaign season, the Nichols/Lauer electioneering became strangely silent online with no given reason for most of October. As the ticket was not on any ballot nor registered as write-ins, no votes were reported.

A week before the election Nichols stated in an interview he was planning to run again in 2020 and 2024. A couple 2017 entries on his Facebook confirmed that plan--

Judge yourself before you judge others, search your heart, mind & soul. Pray for wisdom, knowledge & peace. I'm running for President in 2020. Standing and Kneeling in Unity for our country & the people. God Bless all with many blessings.

Don't get me wrong I like sports but I love the Lord, Family & Country. There are many issues that needs solutions. I'm running for President in 2020.Together with the people issues will have solution. I stand & kneel in unity for all the people. God Bless with many blessings.

Unfortunately his plans were cut short by his untimely death on Jan. 2, 2019.

Election Day 2020!

The long slog is almost over and tomorrow will be Election Day 2020.

I very much want to express my appreciation for the third party VP candidates who honored this blog with their willingness to take part in informational interviews. Especially I would like to single out Mr. Enrique Ramos of the American Free Soil Party who was the first to agree to an interview and helped get the ball rolling. Also Heather Bradford (Socialist Action), Phil Collins (Prohibition Party), Rudy Reyes (Legal Marijuana Now Party), Amar Patel (American Solidarity Party), Eric Bodenstab (Unity Party of America), Blake Huber and Frank Atwood (Approval Voting Party), John de Graaf (Bread and Roses Party), Henry Jackson (Real Democracy Party), and Darcy Richardson (Alliance Party).  I hope you all found the 2020 campaign to be a positive and enlightening experience.

Not pictured is Edward Leamer, 2016 Independent VP who sat out 2020 but also provided an excellent interview.

Eric Bodenstab, 2020 VP Unity Party of America

This campaign website introduces Unity Party of America VP nominee Eric Bodenstab, running-mate with Presidential nominee Bill Hammons:

https://ericforallofus.com/releases/

About Eric Bodenstab

Eric Bodenstab grew up in California before moving to Colorado and earning two Masters Degrees, one in Structural Engineering. He is the married father to two sons and works in the transportation engineering and construction field. Eric appeared in the #3 slot on the Colorado statewide ballot for Lt Governor in 2018, and increased his vote count more than 30,000% over his City Council vote count of a decade before (at this current rate of growth, millions and millions of Americans across America will be voting for Eric in the 2020 Election).

About the Unity Party of America

The Unity Party of America was founded on November 4, 2004. This Centrist national political party now covers 40 States — latest State: Wyoming — is officially recognized at the State level as a result of successful Unity Party candidate petitions as well as at the Federal level (FEC # C00591313), and has fielded candidates several election cycles in a row. Its official website is www.unityparty.us.

----------------------------------------------

Originally I sent Eric a list of questions and his style was to address them in an interdisciplinary narrative rather than point by point. I think his answers can stand on their own without my queries cluttering up the page. I want to thank Mr. Bodenstab for taking the time to contribute his unique perspective as a VP nominee on this blog. Now with all the introductions out of the way, let's go to Eric--

----------------------------------------------

Why am I now the VP candidate?

About a month ago, I lost my job like millions of other Americans also had.  I told Bill at that point, I was considering dropping back - potentially all the way back to my State House District.  Fortunately, I was not out of the labor force for very long.  A month from now I will get started up again.

After realizing that I would be working again soon, I considered the VP candidate role to be more reasonable -  especially as we gradually look to gain ballot access to states beyond Colorado.  Also, truthfully, I don't think the front-running Democratic State House (29) is beatable by a third-party candidate. Furthermore, I was very close to convincing the unopposed Republican candidate to switching over to Unity and possibly keeping that as a two-way race.

Our current Secretary, who fled the Greens, said that Bill & I were the heart of the Unity Party, and there would be no Unity Party without us.  That is particularly the case for Bill Hammons, as he petitioned onto the ballot three times - first time was back in 2008.  It makes sense for us to be the first Presidential Candidates (with ballot access.)  I was there from the very beginning in 2005 in Boulder.

My style and Bill's balance each other out nicely.  I am perhaps more right of center; he perhaps a little to the left.  I am perhaps more a visionary-type; he is more of the administrator.  But who is to say?  And things might change when we are elected to office...

Does that answer some of the preliminary questions?  You can always look at our recently amended (4 Apr 2020) nation party platform - https://unityparty.us/about/platform/

The Unity Party at present seems to be attracting a fair number of more politically-active, left-leaning individuals.  Particularly from the Green Party, which has imploded here in Colorado.  From what I hear, their leader is autocratic and fixated on a set agenda that may not accurately represent the different types of people their party had originally attracted.  For now, we will recruit as many of their former members - several that were interested in being candidates themselves - as we can.  However, the Unity Party is still in the process of developing support, and I cannot say what it will look like in 20 years.  We have some right-of-center members, too.

My thought is that we are not actually a 3rd party at this point or ever, but rather we are The 4th Party.  The Libertarians are The 3rd Party - like them or not, and most people don't like them enough to cast their vote on them.  If we had approval voting (like our friends over at the AVP in Colorado are promoting), perhaps we would see the Libertarians poll at 45 or 55% approval of their views and candidates.  I think we could poll even higher at the Unity Party under those circumstances.

My personal vision is to see both the Unity Party and the Libertarians* overtake the Dems and GOP as the preeminent pair of United States' political parties.  I don't think the Democrats and Republicans will go away; they are already too useful and too many people's identities already are strongly tied to these 150, 200-year-old organizations.  But given Congress' approval rating and Trump's unpopularity with about half the nation, who knows what the future will bring?

The duopoly seems just about ready to implode.  We see the Democrats becoming the democratic-socialists. While the Republicans are transforming into a farther right nationalist core.  Where is the center in all this?  We hope to take that center back and the good 1/4 to 1/3 of unaffiliated voters of the electorate.

How do I see myself?  If there was a 2020 candidate that I had some interesting similarities with it was Marianne Williamson. I spent most of my 20s studying Buddhism and practicing mediation. I do not regularly practice anymore.  Ms. Williamson of course developed a hybrid healing program, involving many aspects of the world’s oldest spiritual traditions that had either informed her early life or became increasingly available from the East in the 60s and 70s.

I think whoever occupies the White House needs to have a strong interest, knowledge and personal Mission within humanity's spiritual traditions.  They need to understand at least a couple of the World's great religions with great appreciation.  He or she needs to be able to interact and problem solve with the traditions that may be odds with their own.  They need to heal the great big open wound that the conflict between these religious traditions has become.  Because we have the freedom in the USA to assemble for almost any non-violent purpose - be it prayer or political - we should be the beacon of that to the world.

I do not know what the 2021 Executive Branch will look like, though I suspect it will look pretty much the same.  If so, there is no telling if Trump may change his tune or pander to his supporters.  It is possible that the Dems could take full control of Congress, and then we would have a more of a stalemate.  The Dems may not change their tune and seek impeachment on ridiculous grounds.  Hopefully, we can ride though this pandemic without much further damage to the economy and without much more loss of human life.  Much of this has been already expressed much better than I will attempt here.

Other candidates I have liked so far are Andrew Yang and Tulsi Gabbard.  Sanders doesn't do it for me, though I cross paths with plenty of supporters in his base.  With each of these individuals, their biggest limitation may be being in the Democratic Party.  It is disappointing how they all have done an about face and endorsed Biden.  It is part of the reason I left the Democratic party some time ago.

That all being said, I like Our ability to get along and Work for the Common Good.  Is that not what a Unity Party should primarily be about?

Thank you,

Eric

*To make this even simpler I would rename the Libertarians: The Liberty Party.  That alone would be an enormous undertaking on their part, because most states do not allow for name changing, despite however similar it is.
