Brooke Tallent

Brooke Tallent

VP candidate for Independent (2016)

Running mate with nominee: Samuel Garcia
Popular vote: ? (0.00%)
Electoral vote: 0/538

The campaign:

Samuel Garcia of Columbus, Ohio filed as an Independent under the name Samx Garcia with the FEC for President on July 23, 2015.

His autobiography was supplied on his campaign website, although the meaning of several acronyms eludes most of us not in the know--

Samuel Garcia, commonly known as Samx, joined College Plus in the fall of 2011. He is pursuing a BA in Computer Science through TESC, and Pastoral Theology through WCBC. He tries to dabble in everything. Samx meets new College Plus students in all kinds of social media and in real life, as well, holding the unofficial world record of having met the most College Plus students and staff: 123, all-in-all. He was the first student speaker at the student sessions in the first national official College Plus Texas Gathering, a mentor at Students Plus, the editor of the CP Unofficial Yearbook, a writer in the CP Student Newsletter, organizer of many unofficial CP gatherings including CPNC gatherings, among many other things.

His platform was rather brief--

#Samx2016 is running on a platform of:
Total Honesty: I'm not running for any good reason. Only because I want to. Publicity? Yep. Fame? Yep. For kicks? Absolutely. Am I being funded by evil corporations? Not yet. Are your campaign promises fake? Mhm.
Empowerment: If I can do it, you can, too! Let's change the world. You don't need to win elections. Act now. Impact the world. We can master the future.
Defense: Defend your friends. Defend your country. Loyalty is paramount.

The FAQ section filled in the blanks--

FAQ:
1. Are you a legitimate Presidential candidate?
Yes and no. I have filed Form 1 (Committee Registration)  and Form 2 (Statement of Candidacy) to the Federal Election Committee for Presidential candidacy and it was accepted. However, entities such as Santa Claus and President Emperor Caesar are also on the list (I am numbered P60009149).
2. Will you give me a cookie if I vote for you?
Yes. If I win.
3. Do you receive donations?
No. I don't want to deal with any more paperwork, so I won't be receiving any donations.
4. Why are you doing this?
No big reason. Just was tired of all these Republicans announcing their candidacy. I figured it's all for publicity - they don't really hope they will win it. I have as much chance as they do. So why not? Maybe the joke is going too far, but I want to see if I can at least manage it. Basically, I am running because I can.
5. How do I contribute to the campaign?
We have many work-less positions to fill! Only limited by your imagination. Also, just start using the #Samx2016 hashtag for anything cookie and/or politics related.

Garcia's running-mate seemed to have been a resident of the Temple, Ga. area and was active with the Freedom Missionary Baptist Church. At the time of the 2016 election, she had just graduated homeschooling at the high school level. Friends and Baptist co-religionists, the Garcia/Tallent ticket probably would have been categorized in the conservative realm judging from their Facebook posts.

The pair did not seem to be registered as write-ins in any state. In the event of their victory, their way-under-age-35 status would have posed a Constitutional problem.

Election history: none

Other occupations: EMT?

Notes:
"This election season has made it abundantly clear that far too many Christians have been putting their faith in a President rather than in the Lord Jesus Christ.
It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Psalms‬ ‭118:8"--Brooke Tallent, Nov. 7, 2020.‬ ‭
