Kurt Leonard Schnupp

Kurt Leonard Schnupp, September 17, 1957 (Hialeah, Fla.) -

VP candidate for Independent (2016)

Running mate with nominee: Dana Edward Brown (1956-2016)
Popular vote: 0 (0.00%)
Electoral vote: 0/538

The campaign:

Dana Brown of Cocoa Beach, Fla. appeared to have launched his Independent Presidential campaign in May, 2016.

Brown's platform, which he called his Plan of Action, included--

-Nationalizing the Federal Reserve
-Brown contended trillions of dollars were stolen from the US Treasury and he was going to retrieve it
-Declare an income tax holiday after the stolen trillions have been recovered
-Eliminate direct popular vote of US Senators and return their selection to state legislatures
-Protect the Constitution
-Clean up Wall St. and the SEC
-End corruption in the justice system
-Massive government deregulation
-Make Bible study part of required public school curriculum
-Display the Ten Commandments on public lands
-Reduce the power of the courts
-Pro-life
-Peace through a strong military

Brown attempted to gain ballot access or become registered in several states. In some states he did name a running-mate. His petition drives for Delaware, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi named Michael Morton as his VP. The drives for Nevada, South Carolina, and Utah named Kurt L. Schnupp.

It is probably a safe bet that Schnupp is the same Kurt Schnupp who lived in Pensacola. He was a retired Army medic who, among things, was a dock manager at a marina.

Brown and his father, George, lived a Ford Econoline van near the beach where they could surf. Known locally as the "ZZTop Guys" due to their long white beards, the father and son had an interest in Biblical prophecy and history. George died in Mar. 2016 at age 87.

Dana Brown did manage to become a registered write-in in Maryland (without a running-mate) where he won 15 votes.

Two days before the election Brown was surfing in California and slammed into a pillar at the Huntington Beach Pier. Two days after the election, Nov. 10, 2016, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

If Brown had lived, and if the Brown/Schnupp ticket had won, there would have been a potential Constitutional problem since both candidates were residents of the same state.

Election history: none

Other occupations: US Army medic, Austere Medical Advisory Group, marina dock manager

Notes:

Brown's death was sad, but at least he died while doing something he loved.
