Hans Otto Georg Hermann Fegelein (Downfall version)

Hans Otto Georg Hermann Fegelein (Downfall version), 2004 (Germany) -

VP candidate for Reich Party (2016)

Running-mate with nominee: Adolf Hitler (Downfall version) (b. 2004)
Popular vote: ? (0.00%)
Electoral vote: 479/538

The campaign:

The Hitler Rants Parodies on Youtube offered a multi-part video narrative on Hitler's run for and his attainment of the US Presidency in 2016. For those who are unfamiliar with this series, it is comprised of clips from the most excellent German language feature film Downfall = Der Untergang (2004) and provides humorous subtitles in English that has nothing to do with what is happening on screen.

The film itself covers Hitler's final days in the bunker, and the Parodies seem to enjoy having a focus on the scenes where Der Fuhrer (played by the amazing Bruno Ganz) is at his most insane ranting, hence the title of their series. Regular viewers know that one of the running jokes in the videos is Hitler pounding a desk and shouting "Fegelein!!!" repeatedly.

Hitler decides to run for US President again but this time with Fegelein as his running-mate. In real life, Fegelein was married to Eva Braun's sister and was a commander in the Waffen-SS. Circumstances surrounding Fegelein's death are a bit murky, but it seems he was executed in the last days of the Reich for crimes against the fascist state. In the movie he is portrayed by the actor Thomas Kretschmann, where Fegelein is presented as a cynical and a bit existential opportunist.

Hitler's plans include installing Himmler as head of the CIA, Walther Hewel as UN Ambassador, and replace Obamacare with Free for everyone Hitlercare.

Hitler wins the election with 274 Electoral votes to Clinton's 116 and Trump's 148. Trump and Clinton joined forces to demand a recount, the results of which give Hitler a bigger margin, 298 to Clinton's 114 and Trump's 128. The Electoral College, caught up in a wave of Hitlermania, elected him with a vote of 479 to Clinton's 53 (Illinois and New York) and Trump's 6 (Utah).

During Hitler's Presidency, an explosion rips the White House apart and he has it rebuilt to resemble the Berlin Bunker. Himmler and Fegelein plot to bring down Hitler. The Democratic and Republican parties call for Hitler's resignation but the Reich Party holds the majority in the US House and Senate. The Capitol Building is bombed. Hitler plans to resign and Fegelein is poised to be become the next President.

The Downfall parody video series had sort of a parallel universe thing going. One storyline had Hitler elected in 2016, but another had him running as an outsider for the 2020 election with Walther Wenck as his running-mate.

Skeletor (Downfall version)

Skeletor (Downfall version), 2004 (Germany) -

VP candidate for Reich Party (2012)

Running-mate with nominee: Adolf Hitler (Downfall version) (b. 2004)
Popular vote: 0 (0.00%)
Electoral vote: 0/538

The campaign:

The Hitler Rants Parodies on Youtube offered a five-part video narrative on Hitler's run for the US Presidency in 2012.

Regular viewers know that "Skeletor" is not the same as the villain in the Masters of the Universe franchise, but rather the name applied to the character of Joseph Goebbels, played by Ulrich Matthes.

Hitler decides to run for US President with Skeletor as his running-mate. Some within his circle quietly work to sabotage his campaign, fearing the American Presidency will distract him from Germany. Hitler performs poorly at the debate with Obama and Romney. His poll numbers plummet and he realizes the election is lost. In spite of an improved performance at the second debate, his odds of winning still look bad. Hitler expresses an opinion that Skeletor may have been a drag on the ticket.

After the election, Hitler concludes, "My name wasn't on the ballot. That's why I lost ... It seems my campaign forgot to get my name added to any of the state ballots ..."
