Running mate with nominee: Forrest Conway LaBelle (b. 1956)
Popular vote: 1 (0.00%)
Electoral vote: 0/538
The campaign:
Forrest C. LaBelle and Tim Locke were registered write-in candidates for President and Vice-President in Maryland and Utah. In 1996 they had also run as a ticket but with the offices reversed.
According to a newspaper ad their platform was: We oppose abortion, gun control, national health care, the Electoral College -- We support a balanced budget, health care reform, popular vote for President, strong national military.
Both nominees were residents of Great Falls, Mont., posing a problem with the Constitution in the event of their victory. LaBelle's birthplace in England was another potential roadblock.
On Election Day they received one vote in Maryland and zero in Utah.

1996 - US President (Independent) - defeated
2004 - Cascade County Commission (Mont.) (Democratic) - primary - defeated
