If the name Larry Hairy Beary sounds like it was invented by a child, that's because it was. Larry was the VP for Presidential candidate Chad the Monster. No, not Chad "The Monster" Anheliger, the Canadian mixed martial arts fighter but Chad the Monster, a blue monster hand puppet controlled by a child who had a series of Youtube campaign presentations in his quest for the Presidency. Chad first announced in Feb. 2012.
Chad did not reveal the name of his running-mate until the day before the election. This no doubt accounted for Chad's disappointing showing at the ballot box, that, and the fact his name corresponds with those little paper fragments that results from holes punched into voting machine cards and are usually negatively associated with the election fiasco in Florida in 2000.
Needless to say, if Chad and Larry had won there would have been a few problems in assuming office. They were certainly too young, they lived in the same state, and the odds are high they were "born" in China.
In previous elections there had been several hand puppets, ventriloquist dummies, muppets, etc. running for President-- many with lame jokes about being a "puppet" and a "dummy"-- but I believe the Chad and Larry team was the first to include two puppets on the same ticket.
