The campaign:
Robert Allen MacLeod, Jr., a mechanic in Americus, Ga. filed for President under the AME Party in Apr. 2015. It is uncertain if AME was an acronym, or meant to be shorthand for the American Party-- and if so, was this was same American Party as the already established one or one of his own invention?
MacLeod mostly used social media as his campaign device, self-styling himself as "R3dn3ck." One ad indicated he was a believer in the far-Right 3 Percenter movement, a concept that is the product of revisionist history. His campaign website outlined his platform, which could be described as conservative populist, although his statement on religion seems to be in contradiction with itself--
Borders: Security of this Nation is a MUST! Priority One! If you are here illegally, expect to be DEPORTED. No Nationality is exempt.
Second Amendment: Wow! "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" !!! Even a Redneck understands these words. Serious reconstruction of some laws needed here.
Marriage: Defined as a union between a man and a woman. If others want a union, civil courts can accomplish this. No need to insult Christians.
Abortion: Defined as eliminating the fetus. While I can respect a woman's right to control their own body, with the destruction of a million babies a year, I believe an open vote should be held on Roe vs. Wade.
Middle East: Seems that 15 years of losing lives over oil, needs to STOP! I can understand wanting to have Allies, but countries that burn our Flag, and beg for money from us, is OVER.
Military: We are the United States of America. We will be a force if needed. However, Homeland Security is a must! Reopen all Military bases that are closed. Bring home soldiers from at least 100 of the 150 countries that they're deployed in, to guard America. Also, this is a Volunteer Service. Remove restrictions and allow more of our young men and women to join. There is Honor in serving your Country. Those who may not have done well in school will benefit the most.
Healthcare: Before the Affordable Healthcare Act, no one was refused attention at the hospital. Now, people are afraid to go if they don't have Health Coverage. And, saying you cannot be denied coverage is a LIE ! Some things are not covered under the ACA. This is where having Doctors sit down and talk with the Government about what will and will not work to get ALL Americans covered.
Economy: WOW...No Brainer Here...Reopening closed bases. Taking Billions of dollars spent overseas, and turn it to Roads, Bridges, Housing and Food Kitchens. With our Vets at the top of the list. Offering Tax Incentives to Small Businesses to hire people straight out of High School and teach them a Trade.
Special Interest Groups: While no man is an Island unto himself, Lobbyists and Groups who want to financially twist arms, do nothing more than piss me off! The same for Unions. They formerly helped to make work places safer and fairly waged, but have now done more harm than good in today's market place, IMO.
Religion: We are a Judeo-Christian founded Country. Freedom of religion means just that. YOU have the the freedom to YOUR religion. Do not try to force it on ME. Half the problems in our society, can be contributed to the attempts to remove GOD from our schools, courthouses and lives. Bibles have been removed from schools, but placed in jails...Go figure.
Taxes: Lets explore this. All good suggestions - Flat Tax, Fair Tax, National Sales Tax. Anything that eliminates the IRS would be a "GLORIOUS" act.
School System: Get the Federal Government out of the schools. States need control. Remove Common Core. Education still needs Reading, Writing, Math, Science, History, American Civics, and most importantly, TRUTH.
United Nations: Simple. Get out of the United States. Remove our 21% contribution. Be a participating member. We are not the World's Police.
Marijuana: Medical needs outweigh any law. Legalizing any drug will stem the illegal Trade and hurt the Cartels. Benefits far outweigh the current laws. However, as with any substance, age is a factor. I believe common ground can be found here.
My Expectations: Reminding those people in office, they work for We the People. We are NOT slaves...Yes, my BFH will go with me to Washington.
MacLeod's running-mate was John Anderson. No, not the 1980 Presidential candidate. This John Anderson was a tattoo artist in West Monroe, La. who was also known as "Turkey." It seems that early in their campaign in 2014 there was some confusion over who was where on the ticket since Anderson's Facebook page at the time included some graphics promoting himself as the standard bearer.
Although MacLeod was fairly critical of Trump during the primary season, it appears Anderson was supporting the Republican by Election Day. No votes were reported for the MacLeod/Anderson ticket, nor did they seem to be registered as write-ins in any state that I can find. In 2015 MacLeod indicated most of his energy was going to be concentrated on the primaries as a write-in even though he was not running in either major party.
