David Louis Friedeberg

David Louis Friedeberg, September 26, 1964 (Cleveland, Ohio) -

VP candidate for Independent (aka Non Affiliated) (2016)

Running mate with nominee: David Librace (b. 1963)
Popular vote: 0 (0.00%)
Electoral vote: 0/538

The campaign:

David Librace had run for President in 2012, apparently without a running-mate. At that time he lived in Florida. He filed with the FEC as an Independent for the 2016 election on June 30, 2015 with an address in West Helena, Ark.

Librace, who seems to be a conspiracy enthusiast of a litigious nature, made the news in early 2016 for introducing a lawsuit claiming Republican Presidential aspirants Sen. Cruz and Sen. Rubio were both Constitutionally ineligible to attain the Presidency due to circumstances of their birth. In a U.S. District Court in Arkansas Librace claimed his "right to vote will be diluted, debased, and desecrated by the presence of Mr. Rubio and Mr. Cruz on the Arkansas ballot." Since Cruz was born in Canada but one of his parents was a US citizen and Rubio was born in Florida to immigrant parents the case went nowhere.

In the course of reporting the proceedings, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette added, "In his response to the suit, [Arkansas Secretary of State] Martin said that Librace is actually a convicted felon from Florida whose real name is Roy Allen Cole and that Cole is ineligible to file suit on behalf of Arkansas voters. Martin also wrote that he believes there to be numerous inaccuracies in Librace's (or Cole's) argument."

On Aug. 20, 2013 Librace made an appeal on Facebook for a running-mate, "Who would like to be as Vice-President on my ticket? Would love to hear from you." On Sept. 21, 2016 Librace announced the selection of Florida resident David Friedeberg as his VP, who apparently was also his partner. On some social media venues it is difficult to ascertain which David is actually doing the writing.

Librace was a registered write-in in at least half a dozen states but no votes were reported.

In July 2019 Librace filed with the FEC as an Independent for President but changed his party to Republican in Aug. 2019.
