Robert Edward Tanner

Robert Edward Tanner, November 2, 1960 (Prince George County, Va.) -

VP candidate for Independent (2016)

Running mate with nominee: Dale Michael Hoinoski (b. 1949)
Popular vote: 0 (0.00%)
Electoral vote: 0/538

The campaign:

Dale "Skip" Hoinoski of Greenwood, Mo. was making his third of three consecutive attempts for the White House in 2016. For the third cycle he initially filed with the FEC on July 4, 2014 as an Independent under the committee name of DALE HOINOSKI FOR PRESIDENT 21016 [sic]. Although the postmarks indicate the form was sent in 2014, he listed 2016 as the date of signing. On June 8, 2016 he sent a second form with a new committee name, "Hoinoski and Tanner 2016." On Aug. 30, 2016 the committee name was amended to "Write In Hoinoski 2016."

Originally from Las Vegas, Hoinoski was a retired Marine and a veteran of Vietnam and Iraq. He had been a private contractor for "Operation Iraqi Freedom," gained a masters degree in computer science information systems, and drove an 18-wheeler.

Hoinoski's conservative political message was infused with his Catholic faith. He also ran for the US Senate, and in that campaign he summarized his political platform--

I am rude and if elected I will stop all abortions and I will identify what a marriage is between a man and woman! Only I will not be able to do this by myself I will asked the American populace, by allowing us to add two additional amendments. First an second to identifying the abortion issue an the same sex marriage issue, America will decide on this, not the media, not the courts, not the judges and not the Supreme Court! America will deman this of our Congress; and the Senate will follow! In addition I'll get the same healthcare Congress has; I will ask to legalize marijuana, an I will support the constitution and the Second Amendment! In addition if you are here legally, as President I will asked you to become an American citizen, (Take the test) otherwise you will have one year! if a grandmother's has been here 20 years an does not become a citizen by earning it she's then going to going home !

Hoinoski's campaign website for 2016 spelled out his platform--

Judges 36-37 CEV; Just as Gideon needed proof that GOD was helping him, I Dale Hoinoski need proof that, it is GOD helping me to rescue and help America!

My Campaign

If you agree with what the Bible says and any of the issues below are dear to your heart, help put my name on the ballot for a better America.

Presidential Objectives:
• Identify Marriage as Union of a Man and a Woman
• Stop Abortions
• Reevaluate the Dollar
• Educational Federal Funds  (Charter and Christian Schools)
• Make Congress Do Their Job
• Secure the Borders
• Declare English the National Language of America
• Medical Responsibility Taken Away from Businesses
• Remove Control of Education from the Government
• Audit the Federal Reserve (Rand Paul Agrees)
• Reduce Unemployment Rates
• Fair Tax 7% to 13%

Upon approval of Fair Tax will get a 10% consumption tax with the same medical that federal employees have • I will support and defend the Constitution.
Legalize marijuana which will pay off our debt. • On immigration, secure the boarders, no amity and you have one year to take the test to become a citizen.

Fuel Solution

We have the ability to produce our own fuel out of marijuana oil. The taxes and revenue can aid in paying off the national debt. It is also possible to make paper and other items from marijuana.

If I am correct in connecting the dots, it seems Hoinoski had difficulty finding a suitable running-mate. A post on Oct. 21, 2015 stated--

I had an appointment with a candidate who I will call John Sunday unfortunately this is my 19th individual who stated they will standby me to restore America!
Therefore I am still trying to find an individual who will standby me to restore America!

Apparently an early VP choice, Michael Steinbrook, decided to drop out of the race. In a comment on Jan. 26, 2016, the standard bearer wrote--

Ryan you knew the answer before you ask, therefore; what I wish – from you is your prayers so that I can find a vice President that can handle the moral issues; Mike gave it a shot and thought he had the fortitude to be able to handle the pressure required in my endeavor to stop all abortions and identify what a marriage is between a man and a woman. Consequently I need somebody that Will fight alongside me to preserve the Constitution and enforce God's grace in man!

On June 8, 2016 the candidate announced his new VP on Facebook--

Since June 2013 I have been trying to find an individual who will stand by me as my vice President! Now Robert E Tanner an I are running for the November 2016 presidential ticket; our committee is as follows, "Hoinoski and Tanner for 2016"

On July 1, 2016 another Facebook post confused matters. Under the slightly garbled post: "Meet our Vice President who has Americas will fight for our morals the constitution Robert Tanner!" the running-mate was called "Robert Turner" in one caption.

Tanner, of Chester, Va., had registered as the VP with the FEC on June 8, 2016.

Circumstantial evidence suggests that by September the campaign was possibly once again without a VP. Hoinoski was not a registered write-in in any state.
