Steven K. Miller, ca1951 -
VP candidate for Independent (2008)
Running mate with nominee: Leonard C. Habermehl (b. ca1951)
Popular vote: ? (0.00%)
Electoral vote: 0/538
The campaign:
Declaring "I'm over 35 and I'm a citizen, so why not," maintenance machinist Leonard C. Habermehl of Frankfort, Ky. registered as a write-in Independent candidate for President in home state. His running-mate was Steven K. Miller of Dallas, Tex., who was apparently a friend from Habermehl's days in the US Air Force.
Habermehl, who said he looked to President Truman as a role model, said he wanted to stop illegal immigration and provide an opportunity for legal immigrants to gain citizenship via military service or public works.
Kentucky did not report the vote totals for any of the write-ins, so we don't know what percentage of the total was acquired by the Habermehl/Miller ticket.
Election history: none
Other occupations: US Air Force
Notes:
Another mystery VP.
