Jason Alexander Washington

Jason Alexander Washington

VP candidate for Independent (aka Non Affiliated aka Unaffiliated) (2016)

Running mate with nominee: Robert Lewis Buchanan (b. 1949)
Popular vote: 196 (0.00%)
Electoral vote: 0/538

The campaign:

Robert Lewis "Bob" Buchanan of Fredericksburg, Va. filed as an Independent for President with the FEC in Mar. 2016. His running-mate was Jason Alexander Washington, creating the very Presidential sounding ticket of Buchanan/Washington combining the surnames of one our worst Presidents with one of the best.

Buchanan ran something of a stealth campaign and seemed to have been a modest fellow. In a letter to the Free-Lance Star, Nov. 3, 2016, he promoted an Independent for President without mentioning his own candidacy--

Try an independent candidate on for size

The majority of Americans (over 60 percent) are unhappy/dissatisfied with the candidates running for president this year, according to various polls.

Some 40 percent of Americans (including Virginians) identify as independents, the polls show.

If these statistics are true, then why in the world would you vote for someone you don’t like/trust, or the lesser of two evils? Is is because you don’t want the other one to win, or you want your party to win, even if you don’t like the nominee?

We are all fed up with the way the federal and state governments treat us, tax us, ignore us. So, why would you vote for any of them? It is time to try something different—an independent! Someone with no ties to a party, PAC, special interest, big money, Big Pharma, etc. Someone who would take the best ideas from all parties, ideology and do what is best for the country and not some other entity.

The time is now!
