Missy Thang

Missy Thang, 2015 (Mitchellville, Md.) -

VP candidate for Common Sense Campaign (2016)

Running mate with nominee: Sistah Soldjah (b. 2010)
Popular vote: 13 (0.00%)
Electoral vote: 0/538

The campaign:

Christine Turner Jackson of Mitchellville, Md. markets her standup routine as a "Christian comedian" playing the characters of Sistah Soldjah and Missy Thang. On Oct. 19, 2016 she filed as a write-in for President in Maryland under the Sistah Soldjah name.

The Soldjah persona was invented in 2010 and Jackson has had gigs in small venues, sometimes using her experience as a teacher to use comedy as a way to educate. The Missy Thang role was created in 2015. Apparently a self-confident women with a lot of brass, Thang has been a master of ceremonies at fashion shows in addition to performing standup comedy.

Soldjah told the press her main platform issue was "common sense." Although not included in the filing, her other character, Missy Thang, was considered her running-mate, so named "because she doesn't miss a thing."

Maryland reported 13 write-in votes for the Soldjah/Thang ticket. Needless to say the number of Constitutional problems presented by this ticket are too many to list.

Election history: none

Other occupations: standup comedy, fashion show master of ceremonies, choir director

Notes:
Jackson is also a juvenile fiction author and greeting card maker.
