Religious Zealot, July 20, 2016 (Hollywood, Calif.) -
VP candidate for Independent (2016)
Running mate with nominee: Asshole (b. 2015)
Popular vote: ? (0.00%)
Electoral vote: 0/538
The campaign:
Travis Richey, an actor and comedian based in Hollywood, jumped into the 2016 Presidential race by posing as the central candidate in the "Asshole for President" campaign, launched on Youtube Sept. 10, 2015.
The Youtube began with, "Hi. I'm an asshole. And I'm running for President of the United States. I'm supposed to make this commercial to convince you why to 'vote' for me. I think that's fairly obvious, don't you? I mean, look at me. I'm a rich white guy."
If the talking points of why this type of sociopathic narcissistic character would be an attractive President seem aimed at Trump, the subsequent electioneering Youtube which was released shortly after the selection of Mike Pence as the Republican VP nominee would be a confirmation. The Asshole for President campaign selected Religious Zealot the running-mate. The part was played by Kevin Small.
Hi, I'm a Religious Zealot and I am proud to join the Asshole ticket. I believe that the rules I saw in a book written 2,000 years ago are a better way to govern a modern country by the ones created even by the founders of that country. That's why I don't eat shellfish, I don't sell cakes to Gays, and I stone my wife a little bit every month for menstruating in public. Sure the Holy Scripture can be contradictory at times but I'm very good at picking and choosing which parts I really believe in just like I can pick and choose what part of America makes up real America.
Later in another Youtube the Asshole gained an endorsement from Moron, who was basically a Sarah Palin clone.
Election history: none
Other occupations: fictitious character
Notes:
In one prophetic quip, Asshole mentions hiding in a bunker when the going gets rough while allowing Religious Zealot to be exposed to danger.
