The campaign:

Curtis Woolsey of Tucson, Ariz. filed with the FEC on Dec. 27, 2016 with the intention of seeking the Presidential nomination of the Constitution Party. Having not achieved that goal, he changed his FEC filing to that of being affiliated with the Christian Party on May 23, 2016, and resumed his quest for the White House. This entity does not appear to be connected to earlier political groups also using the name "Christian Party."

Woolsey was the son of Christian missionaries and had spent part of his upbringing in Peru, Ecuador and Guatemala. He returned to Arizona after a stint in the US Navy. In 2014 he ran as an Independent write-in candidate for Governor of Arizona and made the following statement to Ballotpedia--

On February 15, 2014, I was led by the Holy Spirit to run for Governor of Arizona. On March 7, 2014, the Secretary of State of Arizona accepted the statement of organization for my political committee, 'Arizona for Woolsey for Governor,' commencing my candidacy for Governor of Arizona. By the time my period as leader of Arizona ends, pre-birth killing (abortion), court-ordered medicine, the forbidding of preaching Jesus Christ and the forbidding of Bibles in public schools will be legally ended, or there will be no God in heaven and I will take full responsibility for these restraints on life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness remaining.

Wooley had several Facebook accounts related to his electioneering: Woolsey, Eastwood, Swaggart, 2016 - Jesus Christ for Curtis Woolsey for President - and, Holy Spirit Baptism by Jesus Christ. Clint Eastwood had been selected for the position of Vice-President, with televangelist Jimmy Swaggart for Secretary of State.

The choice of Clint Eastwood as VP is intriguing since the actor has professed ambivalence toward the traditional God of Christian religion but instead embraces the power of the natural world as a spiritual source, "So although my religious training was not really specific, I do feel spiritual things. If I stand on the side of the Grand Canyon and look down, it moves me in some way." Eastwood has also said he practices Transcendental Meditation.

Politically Eastwood had been a Republican and had endorsed every Presidential candidate of that party from Eisenhower to Romney. In interviews he has stated he is actually now a registered Libertarian. In 2016 he initially seemed to endorse Trump but later backed away from that, expressing disappointment with both of the major candidates. It is probably a safe bet he was unaware of having the honor of being the running-mate of the Christian Party.

The Woolsey/Eastwood ticket did not appear on any ballots or were registered as write-ins in any state.

In an April 2019 post-mortem, Woolsey opined--

God did not choose Donald Trump for President. Donald Trump was elected by so-called Christians who are going to hell for voting for Donald Trump in 2016, for not doing God’s will! Jesus Christ said God’s kingdom is for those who do the will of his Father, God. It was God’s will for Curtis Woolsey to be elected President in 2016, just as it is God’s will for Curtis Woolsey to be elected President in 2020! Furthermore, in God’s eyes, Curtis Woolsey is the President of the United States.

Woolsey ran again in 2020, but I cannot verify any running-mate.

The campaign:

A bit of history-- The Independent Grassroots Party split from the Grassroots Party in 1995/1996. According to newspaper accounts at the time the division seemed to be the old single-issue vs. multi-issue platforms, a struggle over purity that is rather common in the history of third parties.

The Grassroots Party had been formed in 1986 to promote the legalization of marijuana and had already run candidates for President in two election cycles. In 1996 they decided to broaden their platform to include, according to the St. Cloud Times, "legalized prostitution, removal of all gun restrictions and a lower legal age for consensual sex." So a number of members who felt the original focus was being obscured walked out and formed the Independent Grassroots Party, making an effort to stay with the original focus.

In 1996 the IGP ran a Presidential ticket of John Birrenbach/George Lee McMahon. Two years later the Party changed their name to the Legal Marijuana Now Party. Although active in campaign politics at more local levels in the intervening years, LMNP would not wage another Presidential effort until 2016.

The Party campaign issues included erasing past and present court convictions as well as ending drug testing in the workplace. A side controversy, not so much in evidence in 2016 but surfaced later, was the charge that Republicans were secretly doing what they could to promote LMNP in order to siphon votes away from Democrats.

Also in 2016 Elworth was seeking a seat in the Nebraska State Legislature. He was officially nonpartisan but apparently ran under the auspices of the Green Party.

On the ballot in two states, the Vacek/Elworth ticket finished with 0.38% in Minnesota (6th out of 9) and 0.14% in Iowa (8th out of 10). Nationally they finished in 10th place, ahead of the Socialist Workers Pary.

Howie Hawkins/Angela Walker won the nomination of the Socialist Party USA in Oct. 2019. On July 11, 2020, Hawkins/Walker received the Green Party nomination in their Age of COVID online convention. In Aug. 2020 Hawkins/Walker were nominated (some sources say "endorsed") by the Legal Marijuana Now Party. In the case of the Legal Marijuana Now Party, Rudy Reyes became the Presidential nominee of the Legal Marijuana Now Party ca. Mar. 2020 when Presidential nominee Mark Elworth Jr stepped down to run for US Congress as a Democrat in Nebraska. After winning the primary Elworth switched back to the LMNP and resumed his top spot on the ticket while Reyes once again became the VP. In August 2020 the LMNP dropped their ticket entirely and backed Hawkins.

In Feb. 2021 Elworth attempted to form a new entity called the MAGA Patriots Party of Nebraska [!!!] while at the same time being successful in gaining official Cornhusker recognition for the Legal Marijuana Now Party.

A gentleman in Columbia City, Oregon with the 2/3 Presidential name of Monroe Pierce Singleton filed with the FEC early in 2016 under the banner of the Peace Party. This organization did not appear to be related to the previous Peace Party created in Oregon as a vehicle for Ralph Nader's 2008 Presidential run in the Beaver State.

After watching the political debates and finding no interest in world peace among the candidates I am declaring my candidacy for president of the United States.
Most of the republican candidates are war hawks with a rating on the war hawk scale of 1 to 10 a 9+. Hillery has a questionable 7 and Bernie  is uncommitted
I qualify under the requirements of the constitution having been born in SPRINGVILLE UTAH October 27 1933. In addition I have been married for 62 years to Louise Knight.  I owned my business and retired after over 40 years. I fathered six children but did not measure up very well as a Dad.
I will be limited financially having only my social security and refusing the super pack money that is bound to be offered, My friends and any other may send a donation of not to exceed $100.00 to the Peace Party, PO Box 526, Columbia city, OR 97018.  I will deposit all money into a trust account at St Helens  Community Federal Credit Union.
My son Robert Monroe Singleton will be my running mate.

In 2016 it looks like VP Robert Singleton was [Washington State trivia alert!!!] a resident of Vancouver. The running-mate's comment on this announcement: "Is the world ever ready for brutal honesty, honestly. In world full of brutality it's time for honesty. Now say that five times fast."

The earliest example of a father-son ticket I can find is Jack Richard Moore with his son Jay Richard Moore for VP in the Common Man's Party (1988, 1992). There was also Darth Vader/Luke Skywalker (Sith Party 2000), James Louis Dezort/James Fredrick Dezort (Independent 2008) and Jeffrey Anthony Wu/Jeffrey Michael Wu (Independent 2016).

After the WW-2 the European Jews were not wanted by most countries. The world Christians doctrine required that the Jews  return and rebuild Solomon's temple before Jesus returned. The Muslims had a Mosque on the temple mount creating a point of tension and erupting in several armed conflicts.
Israel, being backed by the USA continues to  occupy  Palestinian territory in violation of UN resolutions. They were given nuclear capability by the USA a weapon of mass destruction which prompted other nations to want them.
I support the right of a nation to defend itself but any nation willful violating international laws should be considered a rouge nation.
When I am elected president Israel will be informed that they will not get any part of the 4 billion $ that, The US has been subsidizing their economy, 25% of which has been military hardware, until the Palestinians land has been returned and their refugees returned. The money can be best used for the benefit of  U. S. economic problems.

There is no verifiable evidence that there is a god. There is no verifiable evidence that there is no god. Each position requires faith in that which is unverified. The one thing that is verifiable is that there was a creator. Until the purpose of the vast complicated universe is found, the nature of the creator will not be known or the purpose of everything within. We were all created by the same creator and are therefor all distant cousins.
I have read the bible, taken courses on it from high school to collage. I have read the Qur'an the Hindu Gita and have skimmed native American culture, Buddhism and find that they all are saying the same thing, different words but the same thought. Some Christians handle poisonous snakes, burn crosses and kill abortion doctors. Some Muslims blow themselves up and Jainism won't walk on grass for fear of killing a reincarnated relative bug.
There are extreme views taken in every religion based on a cherry picking of the scripture. Conversely the Qur'an's admonishment  "do not go beyond the mark" is good advice. Treat others with respect rings through every scripture.
The constitution separates church and state by law but it does not take religious belief out of the people. Various religious beliefs influence the outcome of legislation and peoples view of the world.
When elected president I will ask the Pope and Dalai Lama to head up a world conference of religious leaders to discuss ways of unifying the religions in a peace effort.

The most important thing a president can do when making decisions is to make right decisions. There is a formula  that.a life should be based on.
1- Being right in the logical sense satisfies intelligence.
2- Being right in the expedient sense avoids judgmental mistakes.
3- Being right in the moral sense satisfies conscience.
These three kinds of right comprises absolute right.
Dwight D. Eisenhower lied to Nikita Khrushchev when ask if US was flying spy planes over Russia. Gary Powers was shot down killing any small hope of ending the cold war.
Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1953 approved  the CIA backed coup to overthought the democratically elected government in Iran for control of their oil. This eventually lead to the hostage crises and Ronald Reagan selling arms for hostages and lying about it.
Richard Nixon's plummer  needs no elaboration on.
George W. Bush started a war, violating all three rights. He didn't verify WMD. He jumped in with on understanding of, and little concern for the problem that was created.

I am a veteran and I am proud of the hero's who put their lives on the line,sacrificing their health, limbs and minds. I am disgusted at the way our military and political leaders are using us to sell their endless war to the unsuspecting public.
The U.S. has not been in a defensive war since WW-2. The rhetoric used is a giveaway. Emotion trumps logic as any life insurance salesman knows as he paints the picture of the the husbands body being hauled away. The same kind of rhetoric is used, "we want to thank our heroes for defending our country and keeping us safe", as they go down the fear list  to make their sale.  Weapons of mass destruction, terrorists 1- Taliban, 2- Al-Qaeda, 3- ISIS and prior was Communism.
A cause has to stand alone, it is not made worthy by the heroism of the participants. A war can't be made valid with the blood of those shedding it. A soldier is a hero but you don't have to be on the winning side to be one.

Any person wanting to be president as a prize or for their legacy and a spot in the history books is doing it for the wrong reason and would never admit it. How to judge?
I don't want to be president but will do the OJT job if elected. There is no instruction manual for that office and I've never had one for any job that I've had, including the US Army. There is a risk with any choice and there is a price for voting or not voting.

Out of thousands of years one important precept has evolved. It is not new. It as old as history. Zoroaster taught it in Persia three thousand years ago. Lao-tse , the founder of Taoism, taught it. Buddha preached it five hundred years before Christ.The sacred books of Hinduism taught it a thousand years before that. Jesus taught it among the hills of Judea and summed it up in one thought.
"Do unto others as you would have others do unto you."
This is probably the most important rule in the world!

Sadly, Monroe Singleton died Apr. 28, 2016 before he had a chance to gain ballot status or even register as a write-in. He was a student of Eric Hoffer and it would have been interesting to read Singleton's take on the final three months of the 2016 national election.

Jeremy Scroggie of Nashville, better known as JW, filed as an Independent with the FEC for President on May 11, 2015. Not all of the candidate's online electioneering presence has survived, but I have found enough to get an idea of his mission. Much of his energy went into touring the country in a 1994 Toyota Itasca camper and he documented his journey with copious videos on Youtube.

JW Scroggie started campaigning almost 3 years ago, via daily YouTube video blogs, reaching out to connect with the American public in a casual down to earth format. As a subscriber to the Scroggie16 YouTube channel one can see his progression from a young 33 year old concerned citizen, to a committed US Presidential candidate registered with the FEC and running a "Write-in" campaign.
Although he may have started off a little rough around the edges, his message has always been completely transparent when it comes to his valid concerns for the state of our nation. His campaign is like no other in many aspects. He is calling for unification, a collective of like minded citizens to join him in his Presidential ambitions, and work along side him sharing ideas, hopes and dreams to heal our broken nation.
His tactics may seem unconventional to most, as he travels from state to state on his Capital City Tour. He drives a motor home fondly referred too as "The First Lady", that has been painted, decorated, and written on by his supporters along the way. So far he has managed to visit 26 capitals of his 48 state goal.
While at each capital he stands proudly on his classic Americana style soapbox, to deliver his message to any and all who will listen. Although he doesn't  draw  crowds by the thousands, his platform message is solid. He speaks about realistic goals for real change.
Scroggie knows there is more than one way to deliver a message, and enjoys using art and music, as well as bold straight talk. He has plans to record and release an original rap song to be distributed to college radio stations across the country late this summer. His goal is to reach thousands of the younger voters close to election day.
JW Scroggie for President may seem like a David against a Goliath scenario, but he is up for the task, and putting out the call for citizens to join him, by boycotting the 2 party system and writing in their next President Elect!
The Time is Now ~ The Change is You!

Although Scroggie toyed with the idea of asking comedian Jon Stewart to be his running-mate, it would appear his VP choice settled on Terri Sutton. She served as Scroggie's publicist, a "freelance writer and editor for J.w. Scroggie U.S. Presidential candidate." Sutton joined the Capital City Tour for a month, July-Aug. 2016 and appeared in Scroggie's prolific Youtube chronicle of the campaign.

Sutton, apparently based in Oregon, seems to have polemic political views coming from the extreme Right if her Facebook is any indicator. It is also rich in conspiracy theories especially regarding the "New World Order" and provides links to Fox talking heads, Newsmax, etc.

At some point late in the electioneering, Scroggie was joined by a gentleman with a pet goat. Both would assist the candidate during public addresses.

Scroggie was not listed on any ballots and finding a complete tally of his write-in votes would be a challenge.

Arron Rudeen of [Washington State trivia alert!!!] Lynnwood, Wash. filed as an Independent for President with the FEC on Oct. 2, 2015.

Rudeen, aka Dr. Haze aka Watchman, operated a company called Haze House devoted to merchandising music. One of the headliners in his talent pool was an artist called Pete tha Nut, who was also the ticket's Vice-Presidential nominee. The projects are designed to keep people in the projects... My mom grew up in Seattle projects and I know that mouse trap all to well... We will change that and change that paradigm by shifting the economics around a bit so that they are in balance and influx with all other housing community's (rich or poor) ... Demolishing of old project housing buildings and construction of new and better housing throughout all 50 states will take a lot of time and work to accomplish, so that in it self will create jobs and opportunities and a economical boom for families kept in the projects... Transforming projects and lower income housing and integrating those community's into the rest of America will both help the working class - lower / non-income class out from the depths of ghettos and into the abundance that we all together share... Not no one simple solution can be applied to end poverty and homelessness but a multitude of individuals united or all under the help for fellow bothers and sisters will be more than enough to end the confusing conflict of those not prospering in our great nation... They say time is money... But we will take the time & spend the money 😉

I've looked well into the Age Thing... Yes the Constitution says you have to be 35 in order to be president of the untitled states... However... I can still run  for office and will just have limited Ballot access in most states due to my age... as well as many instances were state senates as young as age 24 were honored office after intents scrutiny by the congress & constitution standards... in 1972 a woman aged 31 named Linda Jenness received 83,380 Votes despite her age and limited ballot access...
as of this last October 2nd 2015 I have become the youngest Presidential Candidate in United States History at just age 24
Despite The fact of the constitutional prerequisite age requirement of 35 for presidential office, I have both the GOD given right and the American Birth Right enabling me to Campaign for the White House even though I'm just only 24 years of age,
It will be legal for both me to run for office and for you to vote for me... as I have stated some states will not be able to to carry me on the ballot due to the current age discrimination, but will be in the majority of the states...
If I do win the elections my fate will be decided by congress and will be handled from that point on forward...
I do not wish to sit and speculate as that is neither appropriate or productive towards the desired outcome for my candidacy, however it is expected that others may do so in unusual case that is made by my age...

I wish folks would get of the age kick... That's been challenged years ago by folks like Linda Jenness in 1972 ... The real problem is you been indoctrinated into a false paradigm comprised of capitalists who make money from you, your labor & your children since the day you were issued your S.S. Number ... So when a much competent young man such as myself steps forward in the elections the reaction is the same... "You must be 35" ... How ever it takes Bold individuals to stand out from this false paradigm and away from such deception and into true leadership in which he showcases his deprecation of thought from that common individual mind set and questions and entertains in the mind truth and only absolute truth... Rudeen released a campaign autobiography in Nov. 2015 entitled Work of my Youth. After his initial burst of energy the campaign seemed to fizzle out by the start of 2016. Generally speaking, Rudeen is correct when he says a candidate does not have to be age 35 or above in order to run for President. His cited example of 1972 Socialist Workers Party nominee Linda Jenness (and her underage running-mate Cleve Andrew Pulley) were indeed on the ballot in 18 states and the District of Columbia. However, the ages of the candidates proved to be a problem in terms of ballot access for Indiana, New York, and Wisconsin. In those three states the SWP ticket consisted of the older Evelyn Reed and Clifton DeBerry.

A Rudeen/Pete tha Nut victory would have encountered a potential additional Constitutional hurdle in the event of their victory since they were both residents of the same state.

Bob Ross, the iconic laid back artist who provided painting lessons on television, filed with the FEC as a member the Communist Party for President on Dec. 22, 2015 with a mailing address in Muncie, Ind. which was indeed the city where his show had been taped for a time. Oh, one important detail to include, Ross had been dead since 1995. The FEC filing was but one of many dozens of decentralized efforts to start a "Bob Ross for President" movement.

Ross' program on PBS, The Joy of Painting (1983-1994) had a rather sedative impact on many viewers. He was very close-mouthed about his private life and had an apolitical image. I recall watching him a few seconds at a time and moving on while I was channel surfing in the 1980s. Captivating he was not, but my lack of interest and perception was my loss I suppose.

Attempting to define his current appeal as a celebrity and Internet meme-- a Mr. Rogers with a paintbrush-- is something I'll leave to popular culture experts. He is certainly more famous now than when he was living. The Ross for President merchandising wave has become a popular commercial industry in the last couple election cycles.

If I had actually stopped to watch Ross for any length of time I might have discovered that he included a virtual menagerie of animals as his co-hosts as he painted landscapes. The most famous of these little buddies was Peapod the Pocket Squirrel who had appeared in the first half of the 1980s.

Although Peapod has passed on, probably before Ross himself died, the artist was a bit circumspect when asked about the fate of his most popular co-host: "Everywhere I go now, people ask me about Peapod the pocket squirrel. You saw him in some of the earlier series, and Peapod, I think I might have mentioned before, he’s grown up and we’ve turned him loose and he’s got his own family now, a little condo in Miami, BMW, car payments every month — same thing we all have, except I don’t have a BMW."

One of the many Bob Ross paraphernalia mongers was a small entity called Happy Little Country, named after one of the artist's catchphrases, e.g. "happy little trees."
